VENMO


Venmo is a social payments service used to make and share payments with friends, family and select approved businesses. Venmo transactions placed on boxlunch.com and in BoxLunch stores will be processed by PayPal. This results in many of the same payment-related questions answered in the PayPal section. Venmo is not accepted for pre-order items. Our Customer Service team cannot process Venmo orders.


How to make a Venmo Purchase

Paying Online

On your mobile device you should see the option to checkout using Venmo. If you have the Venmo App installed, it is linked with your PayPal account and with your native browser (Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android). Once selected, the experience is very similar to the PayPal checkout experience.

Paying In-Store

Tap the QR code icon, then tap “Show to Pay”. Scan the QR code. Confirm payment if prompted. You’re good to go. A mobile device with internet access and Venmo account and app are required.


Returns

For returns by mail, you can use our self-serve return form. Fill out the fields on the return form provided with you order. Pack your return securely, in the original package if possible, and include your completed return form. Do not tear off the bottom of the invoice. We need the entire form to identify the order. You will not be reimbursed for your original or return postage. You will not receive a refund for your return until we receive your returned item. Allow 2-4 weeks for processing and up to 7 business days to receive your credit. Orders purchased with PayPal/Venmo as payment option can now be returned in stores.

Additional FAQs

Q: I have a Venmo account but don’t see Venmo as a checkout option. What am I missing?

A: Make sure your Venmo is linked to your phone’s native browser (Safari for iPhone, Chrome for Android). This can be done using the following steps:

  • 1. Open Venmo on your mobile device.
  • 2. Navigate to Settings > Connected Browsers
  • 3. Select the browser you wish to connect.
  • 4. The device will open the PayPal site in your browser. Then, open Venmo from the browser (you may need to re-authenticate your Venmo App depending on your security settings).
  • 5. Refresh your browser window and…congrats! Your browser and Venmo are now linked. You may now use Venmo to checkout on our site.

Q: I can’t see Venmo on my desktop but my account is linked. What’s wrong?

A: Venmo is only available for use on the mobile website.

Q: Why does my order confirmation show PayPal when I placed it using Venmo?

A: Venmo transactions are processed by PayPal. We will only charge your Venmo account.

Q: Can I use Venmo to purchase Pre-order items?

A: Unfortunately, Venmo is not eligible for these kinds of purchases. If the order does not allow PayPal it’s safe to assume Venmo is not eligible either.

Q: Can I split my Venmo order with my friends?

A: Yes, all Venmo App features should be useable with your purchase in the Venmo App.
