How to Buy Online and Pick Up In-Store

  • 1. Add items to your bag and choose the "Free Pickup In-Store" option on the product page or at checkout.
  • 2. Don’t forget to “Choose/Change Your Store” and enter your ZIP code!
  • 3. Keep an eye out for an email when your order is ready for pickup.
  • 4. After you’ve received a pickup notification email, bring it to the store with your ID to swoop your items within 7 days!

Curbside Pickup

How does Curbside Pickup work?

• Here’s the lowdown: first, choose the “Free Pickup In-Store” option on the product page before adding an item to your bag.

• After you've placed your Curbside Pickup order, you'll get a notification email when it’s ready for pickup (keep in mind that all pickup orders typically take 3-4 hours to process, and those placed after 4PM may be processed the next business day).

• Next, arrive at the selected store during the specified pickup hour and park at the designated Curbside Pickup location (details within your Ready for Pickup email).

• Call the store phone number (located in the store details of your Ready for Pickup email) to let our store associates know you have arrived. Please allow them time to gather your order and bring it to the trunk of your car—thanks for being patient!

• Remember to bring your ID! It’s as easy as ABC.

Where and when is Curbside Pickup available?

Curbside Pickup is available only at select BoxLunch stores at the moment. To see if a location near you is one of them, select the store at which you’d like to pick up your online order. If that store only offers Curbside Pickup, it will say Curbside Pickup Only; this means you won’t have the option to pick up your order in-store. Currently, Curbside Pickup hours are Monday through Saturday from 3PM - 7PM and Sunday from 2PM - 5PM. You have 7 days to pick up your order, otherwise the items will be restocked and you’ll be refunded.

Payment / Billing

BoxLunch makes payments easy as pie! We currently accept cards with Visa®, MasterCard®, and American Express® logos, as well as Venmo® and PayPal® for online purchases with the Free Pickup In-Store option. Klarna is currently not available for orders that contain same day pickup in-store or multiple fulfillments. You will be charged when the item is marked ready to pick up, or when it ships from our warehouse. You will see individual charges if your items are shipped in different packages or different store pickups.

Q: Can my order have multiple delivery options?

A: Sure thing! Items can be shipped to different stores, as well as to your home.

Q: How long does it take my order to be processed and ready for pickup?

A: As soon as you place your order, we’re on it! Depending on item availability, orders will typically take 3-4 hours to process, and those placed after 3-4 hours before store closes may be processed the next business day.

Q: What happens if I don’t pick up my order 7 days after I have received my pickup notification email?

A: Busy bee? If you don’t get a chance to pick up your order within 7 days, the items will be processed as a return and a refund sent to your original form of payment.

Q: Is there a shipping charge?

A: Not at all! Shipping is free for items being picked up in stores. For items shipped to your home, there is a free shipping threshold. Learn More.

Q: If I choose the “Ship It” option, how long will it take to ship?

A: The anticipation is real! For in-stock items, they will ship within 3 business days.

Q: Are all items available for in-store pickup?

A: Pretty much! Most items are available for in-store pickup. Items excluded will be noted on the product page and in checkout.

Q: Can I have someone else pick up my order?

A: That’s what friends are for, right? As long as they have a copy of the confirmation email and a photo personal ID, we’re cool with it!

Q: What about presale or backorder items?

A: Absolutely! These items can be picked up in-store as well. They will be processed separately from your in-stock items and billed separately. Once we receive the items, we will ship them to the store you chose.

Q: How do I know if an item can be picked up at my BoxLunch store?

A: Thanks to our handy “check availability” feature on the product page, you can see which nearby stores the item can be picked up at! If pickup is not available at a specific store, it will be noted.
